In 2022, the three organizers of this panel met with eight other researchers online to have a conversation about how they studied islands and how they chose the methods they did. That conversation was incorporated into a book entitled Rethinking Island methodologies. In this session, we want to engage with Summit participants to explore whether the methodologies that island researchers use are actually producing outcomes that others, including policymakers, can use for wider benefits.
