About Wadden Academy
The Wadden Academy, founded in 2008, is an independent scientific advisory body in the Netherlands that aims to provide scientific knowledge and advice for the sustainable management and conservation of the Wadden Sea area. The Wadden Sea is a unique coastal area and UNESCO World Heritage site located in the northern part of the Netherlands, as well as in Germany and Denmark. The mission of the Wadden Academy is to promote and facilitate multidisciplinary research on the ecological, socio-cultural, and economic aspects of the Wadden Sea area, and to provide independent advice to policymakers, managers, and stakeholders at the regional, national, and international levels.
